PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Water pumped through the sterilizer flows through a thin layer in the chamber of the device, where it is exposed to UV-C radiation emitted by LEDs with a wavelength of 254 nm. This radiation effectively destroys algae, bacteria and other pathogenic organisms without adversely affecting fish, plants or beneficial nitrifying bacteria. As a result, the aquarium water remains clean and clear, creating a healthy and comfortable environment for fish and plants.

Installation and compatibility

We recommend mounting the sterilizer on the outlet hose of external filters, where the filtered water is clearest, increasing the effectiveness of UV radiation. The device is compatible with all pumps and filtration systems that use 16/22 mm diameter spigots. A unique feature is the ability to easily integrate with AQUAEL FZN PRO cascade filters (models 700, 1000, 1500) by attaching the sterilizer to the intake tube. Dedicated external filters are Ultra 900, 1200, 1400 and Ultramax 1000 and 1500 models.

Water resistance

The AS – 3W LED UV sterilizer is highly versatile – it can be used both outside the aquarium (mounting ”dry” on the filter hoses) and fully submerged in water, if the filtration system allows it. The IPX8 designation confirms that the device is completely waterproof, eliminating the risk of damage from contact with water. A separate power source allows the sterilizer to be safely disconnected without removing the entire filtration system. In addition, a timer switch (not included) can be used to customize the unit’s run time.

Economy and durability

With a total power of only 3.5 watts, the sterilizer ensures minimal energy consumption, which translates into low operating costs. The use of LED technology not only reduces power consumption, but also extends the life of the UV-C LEDs to 10,000 hours compared to traditional UV-C lamps with filaments. Compact dimensions (25 x 6 x 9 cm) make it easy to install in various aquarium configurations.

Use in small and medium-sized aquariums

The sterilizer is ideal for aquarists concerned about water purity in tanks up to 120 liters, including nano aquariums. It fits most standard 16/22 mm diameter hoses, making it compatible with a wide range of filtration systems on the market.

Complementarity

For aquariums larger than 120 liters, we recommend the AS 2.0 UV sterilizers, which support tanks from 200 to 800 liters, depending on the model.
