Sponge cartridges for AQUAEL filters made of carefully selected phenol-free sponge. They provide efficient mechanical filtration of water retaining impurities and suspended solids visible to the naked eye. At the same time, they provide a substrate for nitrifying bacteria, so they also realize biological filtration.
